The
Power In Her Hands
THE PROJECT: HANDS OF SHAKTI
(The word Shakti is derived from the sankrit word Sakti which means power/feminine divine energy).
Hands of Shakti:
'Hands of Shakti' (HOS) was launched in 2023 to empower underprivileged Indian women by providing creative opportunities for economic independence. Many participants, unable to work outside their homes, now earn a primary or secondary income through the flexible, home-based work provided by HOS.
HOS fosters a supportive community that celebrates creativity, inclusivity, and self-expression. Women are trained to craft high-quality, handcrafted products using upcycled or recycled materials. Initial training focused on making handmade flowers from scrap cloth, which are used in keychains, festive door embellishments, decorated diaries, and mementos. Starter kits and training help ensure fair compensation for their work, while finished products are assembled in our studio for purchase, sustaining the cycle. The 'Hands of Shakti' initiative has worked with three communities across Delhi and Haryana, through NGOs/non-profit organizations (Vikasa Foundation-Gurugram, JMC Community Center-Delhi, and Privar Seva Sanstha-Mewat).
Founding Member:
As the founder, Suhani Saigal oversees training for the communities HOS supports and leads product development. All designs using these flowers are created and developed by Suhani, with a focus on showcasing feminine qualities and simple, replicable shapes that preserve the flowers' beauty and allow for customization in bulk orders. Suhani also personally creates artwork using handcrafted flowers supplied by these women, ensuring each piece reflects their collective effort.

List of objectives :
1. Create opportunities for underprivileged women to work from home.
2. Equip women with lifelong monetizable skills.
3. Foster a supportive and inclusive community.
4. Provide a platform for creative expression.
